Alannah Boyle and I discuss her recent arrest at the White House to protest a lack of urgency around the current unfolding climate emergency as well as her take on other issues such as social justice, women’s rights, the rape culture on college campus and the recent draconian laws passed in Texas.
Alannah Boyle presently serves as Campaign Specialist for Faithful Democracy, a national interfaith coalition focused on democracy reform. Alannah’s professional background is in faith based and electoral organizing. She began organizing in college, and worked on her Catholic college campus to co-found the Lasallian Women and the zGender Resource Center. After graduating, Alannah managed her neighbor, Jillian Gilchrest’s campaign for state representative which successfully unseated a 23 year incumbent.
Since then she worked as an Associate at NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice and organized on electoral campaigns in Kentucky and Montana. In her free time, Alannah enjoys hikes, making pottery, and supporting women in sports.
