What an honor to spend a little time with this beautiful man so filled with wisdom and soulful observations. Dr. Eddie Glaude (find him on Twitter!) was generous enough to spend some time with us in between multiple appearances on the major networks, to talk about the corona virus and how this could be an opening to a whole new way for us to move through the world. This man is truly one of the great wisdom keepers of our time.
Eddie S. Glaude Jr. joined the faculty in 2002. He is the author of Exodus! Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black America, University of Chicago Press, In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America, University of Chicago Press (2007), and editor of Is it Nation Time? Contemporary Essays on Black Power and Black Nationalism, University of Chicago Press.
Professor Glaude co- edited African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, (2004) with Cornel West. Other books: Democracy in Black and African American Religion: A Very Short Introduction.
In 2009 he was awarded Princeton’s President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching. His research interests include American pragmatism, specifically the work of John Dewey, and African American religious history and its place in American public life.
