This is one of the most fascinating shows I have ever done. Imagine someone being at the pinnacle of the law enforcement world, at the highest level, and yet beyond being a sworn officer/agent, they’re also a practitioner of the healing arts. That is the life and role of my guest, Art Nieves. We go in multiple directions and in great depth here and Art is not only a joy to engage with, he is also loaded with wisdom.
Art is a legal immigrant from the Philippines who arrived as a child in the US in 1979. After becoming a naturalized US citizen, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University. Working many years in the corporate world left him unfulfilled, so he decided to become a federal law enforcement officer to challenge himself and give back to this country. He has now become a proud public servant for over 21 years.
Deciding he needed to challenge himself further and help others in a different way, he became a Reiki Master, Angel Therapy Practitioner, energy healer and life-long student and teacher. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Fairfield University in 2012 and spent his internship at the Vet Center counseling combat veterans with PTSD, major anxiety and depressive disorders.
He has imparted his knowledge to police officers and police executives teaching them how to improve one’s body, mind and spirit in order to continue to serve others. His passion is to help people live fulfilling and rewarding lives by empowering them to discover and excel in their respective journeys.
Outstanding Art ! This is very much needed in law enforcement.
I really enjoyed this episode as it gave me some things to think about. I especially connected with how Art described enjoying the journey and focusing on the positive. This was new information for me about meditation, reiki, and other ways to connect on the spiritual level. I could tell how much work Art has done over the years to get to where he is, and I was really impressed with how he sincerely wants to share what he has learned and help others. I am also in law enforcement and want to say thanks!
Art Speaks from the heart. He is articulate and very compassionate about his goals and teachings- Great Job
very nice, Art ! I enjoyed listening to this interview and appreciated your background history.
Excellent job as always Art. Very informative and a great way to “think outside of the box.”
